Johnnie Walker Double Black 700ml

Johnnie Walker Double Black is the smokier member of the core range. Diageo describes it as a double malt with a lingering smokiness and a full bodied blended Scotch to savour, and smoke is the headline here rather than a background note.

It is bottled at 40% ABV and carries no age statement, which is a deliberate choice. Instead of leaning on years in cask, the blend leans on character, giving more weight and more peat influence than the standard bottling.

Serve it neat, or over one large cube so the smoke stays intact, or in a highball where cold soda stretches it without washing it out. It is a natural partner for anything cooked over charcoal: grilled pork belly, barbecue, smoked brisket, or a strong blue cheese.
