Red Face is brewed to be a gentle and easy-drinking sake that promotes rice flavours with delicate fruits.
Tasting Notes: Medium-intense aromas of fresh green apple, banana, pear, bread and yogurt, all backed up with rice overtones. Delivery onto the tongue is delicate, with a grainy texture, but grows a little after swallowing; overall, medium intense. Karakuchi (as is described in the category of sake) means dry, and Red Face is indeed dry but not bone dry, you still can sense some of the sweet steamed rice coming through.
Food Pairing: Pairings include sushi & robata, BBQ meats & veg, creamy dishes, grilled fish, ceviche, pickles, as well as richer meat dishes as an able support act. Overall an easy-drinking session sake.
