Dalmau Reserva 750ml
ROBERT PARKER (USA) 2009: 94 points. This vintage was cropped from an early and very healthy harvest, for them one of the greatest vintages of recent times, which delivered structured wines apt for long aging. This blend certainly had a long élevage, 24 months in 225-liter American oak barrels. The palate is round, lush and juicy, with fine-grained tannins and very good balance.
OWN SINGLE VINEYARD
A selection of the best fruit available in selected vintages from our old single vineyard called Canajas, located at 465 meters above sea level. Its soil is mainly clay-chalky, with a stony topsoil, which favours optimal ripening. Special green techniques -crop thinning- are carried out for the pursuit of fresh concentration and complexity.
70% Tempranillo, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Graciano.
Manually selected harvest done in small crates so that grapes reach the winery as soon as possible and in perfect conditions. TheTempranillo was hand-picked on September 16th, the Cabernet Sauvignon on September 20th and the Graciano on September 25th.
Grapes are first carefully de-stemmed and then each variety ferments separately for 11 days. Tempranillo is vatted in stainless steel and Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano in small oak vats. Pumping over and delestage (rack-and-return) operations are carried out on a daily basis.
