This whisky is part of Douglas Laing’s Remarkable Regional Malts series, which showcases different whisky regions. The name "Timorous Beastie" is inspired by the famous Robert Burns poem "To a Mouse" and playfully contrasts the whisky’s bold flavors with its timid namesake.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fresh apples, malted barley, sweet butter, lemon zest, and hints of sour apple and pear drops.
Palate: Oily texture with flavors of butter, candied fruits, icing sugar, buttercream, dark raisins, and soft brown sugar.
Finish: Gentle spice, hints of orchard fruits, and dark sugar notes.
