Schloss Johannisberg Riesling Rotlack Kabinett Medium Dry 2020 750ml

Rotlack is the Kabinett in the Schloss Johannisberg range, made from 100% Riesling hand-harvested in the single Schloss Johannisberg vineyard in Germany's Rheingau. James Suckling awarded it 95 points, calling it a ravishing, peachy nose that is subtle and delicate, with breathtaking balance of fascinating fruit and profound minerality, touches of gooseberry and lime electrifying the palate, and an extremely long, herbal and mineral finish.

The grapes are softly crushed and the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel, with 20% in wooden barrels, then settles on the lees for five months. The colour is a brilliant light yellow, the nose pure with lemongrass, physalis and wild strawberry, the palate fresh and juicy with a delicate, creamy texture and elegant fruit.

At 11% alcohol in the medium dry style, it is well matched with salads, seafood and light chicken dishes. Serve it cold and give it a proper glass.
