Pride Mountain Vineyards farms high above the valley floor between Napa Valley and Sonoma, and its Cabernet Sauvignon has long been one of the mountain benchmarks of California. The 2017 shows blue and black fruit ranging from plum through blackberry to mulberry, deepened by mint, brown sugar, freshly cut cedar and a subtle truffle note.
The texture is where it makes its case. Rich and balanced, with a genuine unctuousness in the mouth, balanced acidity, and silky tannins running through the middle and the finish rather than drying it out.
