Mars Yakushima Aging Blended Malt No.2 700ml

This whisky evokes a unique blend of natural landscapes between rivers, lush forests and majestic mountains. Yakushima Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1993 and located off the coast of Kagoshima in Japan, offers a warm, tropical climate characterized by a high percentage of humidity. This extreme environment gives this whisky a unique ageing process, distinct from that of Shinshu and Tsunuki, with more significant evaporation, bringing a higher proportion to the "angel".

Tasting Notes: The nose first reveals sun-ripened fruit aromas such as mandarin orange, juicy peach and banana. Notes of sea breeze underline the presence of the Pacific Ocean around the island, while the sweetness of white smoke and vanilla add delicacy and complexity. On the palate, tropical fruits offer a richness of flavor, accompanied by subtle 15 ppm peat that fills the palate, enhanced by pleasant saline mineral notes. The finish is smooth, oily and balanced, offering remarkable persistence.
