Marguet Yuman Premier Cru Blanc De Blancs 2019 750ml

This entry-level cuvée does not deserve the name. Yuman 19 is the fourth edition and is based on the 2019 vintage. Only Chardonnay from Premier Cru vineyards in Vrigny are used. Brilliant lemon yellow, green reflections and very fine perlage on the nose, the Blanc de Blancs clearly shows the strengths of the Chardonnay in Champagne.

Tasting Notes: Butterscotch, lemon tart, flamed meringue start the round of aromas. Candied orange, lemon zest and caramelized quince. Very delicate hints of smoky nuances. Oyster shell and algae fit very well into the picture. A little turmeric and cinnamon add an oriental touch. Above all, however, it smells like a puristic, clear Chardonnay. No disturbing wood or intensive notes of yeast. The almost 2 years on the yeast are shown here with freshness and esprit. He doesn't seem remotely cerebral or conceptual. He is who he is. Absolutely uncomplicated and inviting. On the palate it clearly fulfills the expectations gained.

Food Pairing: Breton oysters, Passepierre seaweed, pumpernickel crumble Smoked trout with horseradish sauce and apple and kohlrabi salad Smoked celery with pear and walnuts.
