Jim Barry Benbournie Cabernet Sauvignon 2016 750ml

Named after the settlement now knows as a ‘lost’ township, Benbournie was situated between the towns of Clare and Blyth. The Benbournie is from a single vineyard on our McRae Wood property, planted by Jim Barry in 1964.

First released in 2002, this deep crimson and intensely aromatic wine is flooded with generous dark berry flavours and complemented by very fine, mineralic tannins that add great length and style.

Tasting Notes: This wine is a deep crimson red in the glass. Intensely aromatic with a mix of dark ripe fruits and a healthy lick of oak. The palate is ripe and structured with girth and length, showing blue black fruits, brambles and spice. The Benbournie has been created with the Jim Barry philosophy to be enjoyed upon release after a period of long term cellaring (under correct conditions) to enhance the wine’s qualities.
