The High Trellis comes from McLaren Vale in South Australia and is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
All d'Arenberg estate owned and leased vineyards are NASAA Certified for organic and biodynamic processes. That natural and environmentally friendly philosophy encourages strong root systems that penetrate the soil, resulting in lively tannin structures, soil characters and fine minerality. It also keeps yields low, which concentrates flavours and preserves excellent natural acidity.
In the glass the colour is a convincing crimson purple. The bouquet displays red cherry, bay leaf, spices and a hint of black pepper, and the palate is an enticing mix of capsicum, licorice, blackberry and mulberry. Tannins are fine and well integrated. It is 14.5% ABV with residual sugar of 1.3 g/l.
This is a serious Cabernet for the price, one you can open anytime with pleasure and confidence. Pour it with grilled steak, lamb chops or aged cheddar.
