The wines are drawn from the vast central plateau of the Iberian Peninsula, often described as the largest vineyard in the world, and they are made as straightforward single-variety bottlings rather than complicated blends.

This is Tempranillo, Spain's signature red grape, in its most approachable form. The Consigna style is built around ripe fruit, soft structure and immediate drinkability, with wines designed to be enjoyed young rather than cellared.

Serve it lightly cool, around 15 to 17 degrees. It sits naturally with rice dishes, roast pork, lamb, grilled sausages and tomato-based stews, and it is an easy bottle to put on the table when the meal matters more than the wine list. A sensible house red at a sensible price.
