Citra Chardonnay Terre di Chieti 750ml

Citra Vini is a co-operative based in Ortona, in the province of Chieti on the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo, and this Chardonnay carries the Terre di Chieti IGT. It is the kind of Italian white that quietly does the work: honest fruit, clean lines, no oak weighing it down.

The winemaking is deliberately gentle, with light crushing and cold maceration, then fermentation of the clarified must in stainless steel at a low, controlled temperature to protect freshness. The wine shows a straw yellow colour, a delicate and pleasantly fruity nose with hints of citrus, and a harmonious, tasty palate that lingers longer than the price suggests.

Serve it cold, around 8 to 10 degrees. It works with fish antipasti, shellfish and prawns, seafood risotto, white meats and fresh cheeses, which makes it an easy match for grilled fish or a plate of gambas on a warm Manila evening.
