Champagne Marguet is a family estate based in Ambonnay, a Grand Cru village in the Montagne de Reims. The Marguet family has been making Champagne there since 1870, and the house is now in its fifth generation under Benoit Marguet, known for terroir driven, low dosage cuvees.
This bottling is a vintage Champagne, declared from the 2006 harvest alone and classified Grand Cru. Vintage Champagne is only made in years a house considers worth setting aside, so a single year release from a small Ambonnay grower is genuinely scarce rather than simply presented that way.
Serve it around 10C in a white wine glass rather than a narrow flute, so the aromatics have room. It suits an anniversary table, a milestone, or a first course of oysters, langoustine or roast chicken. We have not printed tasting notes here because we would rather you form your own on a wine of this age.
