Alfonso Brandy 1L

Alfonso is a Filipino brandy built around smoothness. It is made from grapes and given meticulous aging, which is what smooths the edges and gives it a rich, easy flavour profile at 36% ABV.

Expect aromas of dried fruit, caramel and oak, then a velvety mouthfeel carrying vanilla, chocolate and warm spice. The finish is warm and smooth rather than hot, which is why it works neat as well as it does in a mixed drink.

It is a good bottle for a house that entertains often. Serve it neat or over a single large cube after dinner, or build it into a highball with soda when the evening is longer. At the table it holds up to rich cheeses, roasted meats and dark chocolate desserts, and it is just as good with fruit-based desserts and a bowl of nuts.
